Suffield is a quiet, historic town along the Connecticut River, and its signature wedding venue reflects that character perfectly. Hilltop Farm's 1914 dairy barn — built by Indian Motorcycle co-founder George Hendee and maintained today by the nonprofit Friends of the Farm at Hilltop — has been called "Connecticut's Agricultural Cathedral," and it's easy to see why once you're inside: soaring open-rafter ceilings, whitewashed siding, and 71 acres of rolling hills and river views.
It's also a genuinely flexible property — couples can host both ceremony and reception on site, choose an indoor barn setup or an outdoor field ceremony, and bring in outside caterers rather than working from a preferred-vendor list. That flexibility means every Hilltop wedding looks a little different, and we scout the specific layout each couple chooses well before the big day.
Because the barn itself isn't heated or cooled, we also plan our audio and lighting around the season and the natural airflow of the space — a barn wedding in June sounds and feels different from one in October, and we account for that.
