163 Acres. National Historic Landmark. The Most Unique Wedding Venue in the Berkshires.

Jacob's Pillow at 358 George Carter Road in Becket is unlike any other wedding venue in western Massachusetts — or, frankly, in New England. A 163-acre National Historic Landmark and recipient of the National Medal of Arts, the Pillow is home to America's longest-running international dance festival and one of the most celebrated performing arts campuses in the world. The New York Times has called it "the dance center of the nation." Couples who hold their wedding here connect their special day to a place with genuine cultural weight and singular Berkshire beauty.

The campus offers multiple distinct event spaces for weddings: the Henry J. Leir Stage, a scenic outdoor stage with wooden bench seating for up to 400 guests — ideal for ceremonies; the Perles Family Studio, with soaring ceilings, warm wooden details, and a dance floor for up to 190 guests; the Doris Duke Theatre stage and lobbies for receptions up to 220 guests; and the Tea Garden and Bakalar Studio, a refurbished New England barn with adjoining lawn for intimate celebrations up to 80. Packages combine spaces based on your guest count and vision, with the full 163-acre campus exclusively yours for the event.

Jacob's Pillow is available for weddings September through mid-May — outside its summer festival season — with fall foliage weekends being particularly sought after. It is a site-only venue: all catering, rentals, and furniture are provided by outside vendors of your choice. For DJ pricing and availability, reach out directly. We travel throughout Berkshire County and know what multi-space outdoor events like Jacob's Pillow require.

What's Included for Your Jacob's Pillow Wedding

Every package is built around Jacob's Pillow's multi-space campus layout — outdoor ceremony on the Leir Stage, cocktail hour in the Tea Garden, and reception in the Perles Family Studio or Doris Duke Theatre.

Reception DJ + MC

Grand entrance into the Perles Family Studio or Doris Duke Theatre, first dance under soaring ceilings, parent dances, toasts, cake cutting — every moment announced with precision and energy inside spaces that were literally built for performance.

Leir Stage Ceremony Coverage

Wireless lapel mic for the officiant and processional music on the Henry J. Leir Stage — an outdoor performance stage set against the Berkshire hills. Up to 400 guests on wooden bench seating with Berkshire Mountain views in every direction.

Tea Garden Cocktail Hour

Wireless speaker for cocktail hour in the historic Tea Garden — one of the campus's most beloved spaces. Music flows naturally as guests move from the outdoor stage through the grounds into the reception space without any dead air between zones.

Dance Floor Lighting

Basic dance floor lighting included. The Perles Family Studio's soaring ceilings and warm wood details amplify lighting effects beautifully. Note: open flame is prohibited inside Jacob's Pillow buildings — we use LED lighting throughout, which works exceptionally well in these spaces.

Photo Booth Add-On

163 acres of Berkshire hillside, historic performance spaces, and the campus's iconic architecture create extraordinary backdrop options. See our photo booth options — a 360 booth inside the Perles Studio is exceptional.

Planning Consultation

Pre-wedding session covering every song, every announcement cue, and your full timeline — built around the Jacob's Pillow Events and Hospitality Manager's run-of-show and the specific spaces included in your package. Multi-space venues require extra coordination; we do that work in advance.

What Every DJ Needs to Know About Jacob's Pillow

Multiple named spaces, a site-only model, no open flame, and a campus that demands serious advance coordination. Here's what shapes our approach at the Pillow.

Site-Only — Bring Everything

Jacob's Pillow provides the spaces and three staff members on the day. Tables, chairs, linens, and all rental furniture must come from outside vendors. As the DJ, we coordinate timing with your caterer and rental team to ensure setup and sound check are completed before any guest arrival — there's no house furniture to fall back on.

No Open Flame Indoors

Open flame of any kind is prohibited inside Jacob's Pillow buildings. We exclusively use LED lighting — no candle-effect uplighting with open elements. Battery-operated LED tea lights are commonly used by couples in place of votive candles. Our full lighting package is LED-based and works beautifully in the Perles Studio's warm wood environment.

Three Distinct Audio Zones

Leir Stage ceremony, Tea Garden cocktail hour, and Perles Family Studio or Duke Theatre reception are each separate audio environments. We set up independent wireless systems for each zone and coordinate transitions precisely so the music follows guests seamlessly across the 163-acre campus.

September–May Availability Only

Jacob's Pillow is unavailable during its summer dance festival (roughly June–August). Wedding season here is September–mid-May, with fall foliage dates booking fastest. We coordinate our availability calendar with Jacob's Pillow's directly — reach out early if your target date is in October or during peak spring weekends in May.

Is Jacob's Pillow a site-only venue?
Yes — Jacob's Pillow provides exclusive use of the spaces, ample parking, restrooms, and three staff members on the day of the event.
