Hancock Shaker Village on Route 20 in Hancock is a National Historic Landmark and living history museum set on 750 acres of rolling Berkshire farmland, with 20 historic buildings dating to 1790, vibrant heirloom vegetable and herb gardens, farm animals, and panoramic mountain views in every direction. Known historically as "The City of Peace," it draws couples from Boston, New York, and well beyond — a one-of-a-kind setting that no banquet hall can replicate.
The primary reception space is the Structure Tent — recently upgraded from a three-season tent to a permanent structure, making it a true all-season-capable reception space with a grand feel. It sits on the grounds with sweeping views of the Village and the surrounding Berkshire landscape.
HSV is currently in an exciting period of growth: the Gallery & Visitor space renovation is adding expanded reception areas near the tent, including a beautiful new front porch overlooking the Village — ideal for cocktail hours and rehearsal dinners. Ask your events coordinator for the latest on what's available for your date.
The historic barns — including the iconic Round Stone Barn — remain a stunning part of the property and a favorite for photographs and exploration, though they are not currently available for gatherings while code upgrades are completed. Your HSV events team will walk you through exactly which spaces work for your event. For couples exploring the broader western Massachusetts region, our western MA venue guide covers the full landscape.
