Gedney Farm at 34 Hartsville–New Marlborough Road sits in the heart of the "Old Berkshire" village of New Marlborough — a National Historic District in the rolling hills of southern Berkshire County, about two hours from both Boston and New York. The property has been hosting weddings for more than 30 years and earned its reputation the way the best venues do: through exceptional food, warm and professional staff, and a setting that stops guests in their tracks. Two Normandy-style barns with gambrel slate and cedar roofs, beautifully detailed dormers and cupolas, and 37 acres of lush pastures and open meadows create one of the most photographically stunning and authentically Berkshire settings in the region.
The 1906 Event Barn is the heart of the wedding experience — a beautifully renovated three-level space where ground-floor sliding glass doors open onto the terrace garden and Argentine Grill courtyard, the main level hosts dinner and dancing for up to 250 seated guests with a sizable dance floor, and the loft level opens onto the main level creating a dramatic double-height space with exposed beams overhead. For larger parties, a tent extends capacity to around 350 guests. The barn is fully air conditioned and heated. The iconic outdoor ceremony setting is the grand oak tree in the open meadow — guests process up the hill from the courtyard to a sweeping ceremony space with the Berkshire hills rolling in every direction. The former dairy barn now houses 16 luxurious guest rooms and suites, many with granite fireplaces and whirlpool tubs, allowing couples to book the entire property for a private weekend with their wedding party and closest family.
Gedney Farm's all-inclusive approach — in-house catering by an executive chef, sommelier-curated wine and cocktail programs, linens, flatware, and full coordination — means the on-site event manager handles vendor coordination from the property tour through the last guest's departure. That includes coordinating directly with us. Gedney Farm is a destination wedding venue that draws couples from New York, Boston, and beyond.
